BACOLOD City – For the month of March, P1.9 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) was seized from various antidrug operations here, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported.
A total of 48 entrapment operations were conducted, resulting to the confiscation of 284.58 grams of illegal drugs, data from the BCPO showed.
The police netted a total of 67 drug personalities – four tagged as “high-value” targets, 62 were “street-level” targets and one drug personality.
The BCPO also filed a total of 101 charges against drug suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
As to the local police’s campaign against fugitives, the BCPO conducted a total of 58 operations which resulted in the arrest of 10 “most wanted” persons and 48 other wanted persons charged with various offenses.
On the other hand, the BCPO said four suspects were charged with illegal possession of firearms.
Twenty-six operations against illegal gambling were also conducted, resulting to the arrest of 75 individuals and confiscation of P5,689 bet money.
Police Colonel Manuel Placido, BCPO director, commended the city’s police force for a “job well done”, and reminded them to be motivated at all times “to make the city safe and peaceful amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.”/PN
