Bacolod robbery suspect known

BACOLOD City — One of the suspects in robbing a noodle company auditor in Barangay Mansilingan here had been identified.

Vergil Villanueva, 34, auditor of Robin Hood, said Nestor Opeña, 25, of Barangay Alegria, Murcia town, pointed a gun at him and took his sling bag containing P102,000 cash, including his collection.

Villanueva, who lives in Purok San Jose, Barangay Sum-ag, identified Opeña from the rogues’ gallery of Police Station 7 here.

He was onboard their delivery van when Opeña and two other suspects riding a motorcycle flagged them down at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday.

Opeña and his cohorts, who live in Bangga Alit, Barangay Mansilingan, remain at large.

Police said the suspects were also behind the robbery of a soft drink delivery company LM Marketing in Paglaum Village, Barangay Mansilingan, where they took some P262,000 in cash collections on Aug. 10.

They were also tagged in other robbery incidents along the road to Murcia in Barangay Mansilingan./PN
