
BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts’ athletics team displayed its wares during the Negros 1st Monthly Athletics held at the Ramon Magsaysay Elementary School Oval in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Dona de Leon led the Thunderbolts’ medal haul with three gold finishes, including the 200 meter dash youth division, where her teammates Bianca Seroy and Shaltea Delotavo ended up with silver and bronze medals, respectively.
De Leon and Seroy also finished the tournament with a gold and silver medal, respectively, in the triple jump youth division, while the former netted her third gold medal in the youth division of the high jump event.
Antonette Jay Aguillon, meanwhile, bagged the gold medal of the 200 meter seniors’ division and finished as runner-up in the seniors’ triple jump, while Maryal Siglos obtained the gold medal in the 1500 meter kids’ and the silver in the 200 meter kid’s division.
The other gold medal winner for the Thunderbolts team was Klyde Montalbo at the 2KM walk seniors’, while Stephany Malate got the silver in the seniors’ shot put. April Dealagnon, on the other hand, copped the bronze award in the 1500 meter youth division.
“Hardwork has paid off for these young girls. As a coach, I am hoping that they will continue to work hard in practice for them to achieve their goal,” said assistant coach Leigh Dano./PN
