BACOLOD City – To ensure the safety of voters during the conduct of the May 12 midterm elections, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) will deploy 150 responders to 48 polling centers across the city.

Edward Ramirez, chief operations officer of the CDRRMO, said their emergency plans are all ready for the elections on Monday and four to five responders will help secure every polling center.

“These responders are composed of barangay health workers and personnel from the CDRRMO,” he said.

The polling centers are located in barangays 2, 14, 30, 38, Banago, Bata, Mandalagan, Villamonte, Estefania, Granada, Taculing, Alijis, Mansilingan, Vista Alegre, Tangub, Singcang-Airport, Pahanocoy, Sum-ag, Punta Taytay, Handumanan, and Felisa.

Also, CDRRMO ambulances will augment several barangays with no ambulance.

Ramirez added that CDRRMO staff will be on a 24-hour duty to monitor the situation on election day from the Operations Center.

“Other CDRRMO personnel will conduct roving duties in schools,” he said./PN
