
BACOLOD City – The newly-built Cancer Care Center at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in this city is in need of an additional P50-million budget for its equipment in order for the facility to start its operation.
The two-storey building’s first phase was worth P34 million. Its construction commenced last year.
The center aims to address the rising number of cancer cases, particularly breast cancer.
Last week, the elevator for the facility had arrived. Its installation is part of the first phase.
“We are now helping sa pag-facilitate kag pagbutang sang equipment nga kinanglan sang center. They [CLMMRH] already submitted the list sang kinanglan nga equipment para ka operate ang center,” Lone District’s Rep. Greg Gasataya said.
The center’s operation will be handled by the CLMMRH, he added.
Meanwhile, the facility’s inauguration will be held soon. The CLMMRH will announce the final date./PN
