BACOLOD City – Rench Isaac Soriano, the grand prize winner in the Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition, received a plaque of recognition from the city government yesterday.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia handed the plaque to Soriano together with a copy of the resolution congratulating the latter for his “outstanding performance” and “bringing pride to the country.”
The Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition 2017 was held at the Hongkong Academy for Performing Arts on Aug. 7 to 12.
The competition is an art educational platform created to inspire and recognize the artistic excellence of passionate and dedicated ballet dancers.
Scholarships and awards were given to outstanding ballet dancers in the competition, said Councilor Em Ang who authored the resolution.
Soriano was given a scholarship in New Zealand./PN
