ILOILO City – This city’s representative in the Lower House, Cong. Julienne “Jam-jam” Baronda, is willing to be publicly inoculated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Her family members are also getting the anti-coronavirus shots.

“My parents and sibling are medical practitioners. They know what’s best for them,” Baronda told Panay News.

Baronda’s dad is former City Health Office chief Dr. Urminico Baronda while her mom Julie, also a doctor, formerly headed the city-run La Paz Maternity Clinic.

The congresswoman’s older sister and husband are also medical doctors.

The lady legislator said they believe in the expertise of the Food and Drug Administration that vetted the vaccines before issuing an Emergency Use Authorization.

“Other countries have started vaccinating their people. We also want our people to be protected from COVID-19,” Baronda said.

For his part, Department of Health Region 6 regional epidemiologist Dr. Glen Alonsabe is also willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Kon available ang vaccine, anytime puede ako. Number one, senior citizen ako,” said Alonsabe.

He trusts his fellow medical experts, he added.

Kay sin-o pa abi ako masalig? So ako ya basta ma-approve sang FDA kag mga vaccine experts, no problem. Bisan ano pa nga brand okay na ya sa akon,” he said./PN
