BAROTAC Nuevo National Comprehensive High School (BNNCHS) won the 2017 I, Pagasa Football Club Invitational Futsal Cup U-17 girls event in the Power House Gym at Gaisano Capital in Iloilo City.
BNNCHS captured the championship after defeating Santa Barbara Futbolilits in a tightly contested gold medal match on Thursday night. Santa Barbara National Comprehensive High School (SBNCHS) settled for third place.
BNNCHS and Futbolilits ended the elimination round on top of the standings with identical 3-1 win-loss slates, while SBNCHS and Tigbauan finished on third and fourth places, respectively.
In the semifinals, BNNCHS scored a lopsided victory over SBNCHS while Futbolilits outscored Tigbauan.
Other participating teams in the category were Estancia FC, Guimbal FC, Iloilo City National High School, Jalandoni Memorial National High School, Janiuaynon Defenders FC, Inc., Kalibo Sakeros FC, and Western Institute of Technology.
Aside from U-17 girls, the three-day futsal tournament also had a U-15 boys category for players born in 2002 and later, and U-17 boys for those born from in 2000 and later.
