BINIBINING Pilipinas 2025 has crowned its new queens, pageant veterans Katrina Johnson and Annabelle McDonnell as Binibining Pilipinas International and Binibining Pilipinas Globe, respectively, wrapping up the grand coronation.
Johnson, representing Davao Province, and McDonnell of Iligan City, bested 34 other contenders in ceremonies held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the Araneta City in Quezon City on Sunday evening, June 15.
The new queens took home P1 million each, and the right to represent the Philippines in global competitions — Miss International and The Miss Globe pageants.
Johnson inherited her crown from 2024 winner Myrna Eguerra, who is set to compete in the 63rd Miss International pageant in Japan in November this year.
The new queen will represent the Philippines in the 64th edition of the Miss International pageant that will be held next year.
McDonnell received her crown from Jasmin Bungay, who finished third in last year’s edition of The Miss Globe pageant held in Albania.
The European nation will once again host this year’s The Miss Globe pageant, with the final competition show scheduled on Oct. 15 (16 in Manila).
Two ladies joined the court of the two new Bb. Pilipinas queens, first runner-up Dalia Varde Khattab from Las Piñas and Kathleen Espenido from Siargao.
The four winners breezed through the pageant’s Top 14, which was the first and final cut to make it to the question-and-answer segment, and eventually, clinched the titles.
The 61st Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night was hosted by 2016 Miss Grand International first runner-up Nicole Cordoves, 2014 Miss Universe semifinalist MJ Lastimosa, 2021 The Miss Globe Maureen Montagne, and 2016 Miss International Kylie Verzosa.
