BCPO nets P748K worth of shabu, two suspects

BACOLOD City — The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized around 110 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately P748,000 in a buy-bust operation on August 15.

The operation, conducted at about 2:50 a.m. in Purok Cereza South, Barangay 3, was led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez.

Arrested were aliases “Roberto,” 39, and “Rey,” 25, both residents of the area. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects and the seized evidence are now under BCPO custody for proper disposition and the filing of charges in court.

BCPO reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations to safeguard Bacolod City from the threat of narcotics.

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO–NIR) lauded BCPO for the successful operation.

PRO–NIR Regional Director Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay also commended the operatives for their vigilance, swift execution, and professionalism.

“The bravery, integrity, and dedication of our personnel, especially those on the ground in high-risk operations, remain exceptional,” Ibay said, emphasizing that the success reflects PRO–NIR’s unwavering commitment to combating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of the communities it serves.
