BORACAY – This world-class island received 1,342,981 visitors in the first seven months of this year, a 3.86 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Data from Malay Municipal Tourism Office showed that Aklan’s holiday island accommodated 226,864 foreign tourists during the period, up by 14.33 percent.
In July alone, more than 22,000 foreigners or roughly 10 percent of this year’s arrivals had entered the island.
Moreover, Boracay’s domestic markets continue to make its mark with 1,094,387 arrivals from January to July 2025, an 8.04 % increase year-on-year.
The months of April to June also contributed 546,164 domestic tourists.
Though the arrivals have yet to reach the pre-pandemic levels, Boracay is expecting 2 million visitors by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the island’s White Beach was recently listed as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
According to UK’s Big 7 Travel, Boracay’s White Beach in 10th place was cited for its powdery white sand and the classic backdrop of palm trees and light jungle.
“There are few beaches that rival White Beach as one of the best in the world. Thanks to its location on Boracay Island, the sunsets from White Beach are some of the best in the country, too,” it added./PN
