Cadiz road crash kills 3, injures 2

BACOLOD City – A motorcycle and a tricycle crashed against each other on the national highway in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, killing three persons including a minor.

Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, officer-in-charge of the Cadiz City police station, identified the casualties as the 17-year-old Anthony “Tonying” Amora, 21-year-old Mark “Tingkoy” Asis and 28-year-old Michael Umandac.

Amora, Asis and Umandac were rushed to the Cadiz City District Hospital where the attending physicians pronounced them “dead on arrival.”

Two others – Crismar Dorias, 15, and Elmer Canillada, 35 – were injured, police said.

Amora was driving a Rusi motorcycle with Asis and Dorias on board on their way home to Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City around 11:40 p.m. on Friday when they bumped into the tricycle driven by Umandac with Canillada as passenger, said Police Officer 2 Jerry Balasqua-in, the investigator

A witness – whose name was not mentioned but is a truck driver – told the police that the tricycle overtook him resulting to the crash.

According to the police Amora, Asis and Dorias were drunk./PN
