CAPIZ – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO), through the Dumalag Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by Officer-in-Charge Major Cherryl M. Visto, has intensified its crime prevention efforts through police visibility and community engagement in Dumalag town.
The initiative aims to raise public awareness on key safety concerns and promote proactive community involvement in maintaining peace and order.
During the campaign, police officers engaged residents in discussions on various topics, including the Anti-Terrorism Campaign, Anti-Illegal Drugs, Anti-Illegal Gambling, Anti-Illegal Logging, the strict enforcement of municipal ordinances, and practical crime prevention and public safety tips.
Police visibility was heightened in areas of public convergence and vital installations to ensure the safety of residents, particularly students as classes resume.
The Dumalag PNP emphasized that these efforts are designed to preempt incidents related to the eight focused crimes — such as theft, physical injury, rape, and robbery — and other related offenses.
“This operation supports the PNP’s campaign against criminality, aims to reduce crime rates, and enhance public safety and security towards achieving a safer Dumalag for living, working, and doing business,” the Dumalag MPS said in a statement.
In addition, the CPPO is further boosting its crime prevention efforts by partnering with media outlets and academic institutions through Project TEKMEN — short for Technology Against Illegal Drugs, Terrorism, and Crime.
Project TEKMEN seeks to enhance crime reporting, monitoring, and emergency response using social media platforms and digital technologies, in collaboration with both secondary and tertiary schools.
This strategic partnership underscores the CPPO’s commitment to community-based policing and leveraging modern tools to combat crime more effectively./PN
