CAPIZ – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has begun distributing the honoraria for teachers in the province who served during the 2025 national and local elections.
According to Atty. Salud Milagros Villanueva, provincial election supervisor, several election officers have started releasing the honoraria to teachers here.
Teachers who served in the elections will receive honoraria ranging from P9,000 to P12,000, following the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) approval of a P2,000 increase in compensation.
In line with the Election Service Reform Act, the poll body is required to pay the honoraria within 15 days after the election.
The Comelec previously reported that the Department of Education (DepEd)-Capiz deployed over 2,319 teachers, 468 supervisors, and 735 support staff to assist during the elections.
Additionally, Comelec National spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco earlier reminded teachers to coordinate with the election officers (EOs) in the cities or municipalities where they served on May 12 to ensure the timely release of their payments.
“We urge you to coordinate with the principals so that we can process and release the honoraria as soon as possible,” Laudiangco emphasized./PN
