Ceneco: No disconnection until Aug. 31

BACOLOD City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) will suspend its disconnection activities until the end of August this year.

In an advisory issued Wednesday, Ceneco said they will not disconnect any service in case customers have not settled their unpaid bills for the previous months.

“We understand the plight of our member-consumers during this time of coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic,” said Ceneco officer-in-charge Jose Taniongon.

Those who intend to settle their power bills may do so through Ceneco collection centers and banks, Taniongon added.

Ceneco, in the same advisory, announced that there will be an increase of P0.3227 per kilo-watt hour (kWh) in its July billing.

Taniongon attributed the rate hike to the spike of generation, transmission and systems loss charges.

He reminded consumers to be conscientious electricity users following the increase in Ceneco rate beginning this month – by P10.5943/kWh./PN
