City markets, slaughterhouse exceed income

ILOILO City – This city’s Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO) posted P25-million market collection for the first quarter of this year – P5 million higher from its target of P20 million.

The city slaughterhouse collected the highest at P11 million, higher by P6 million from its target of P5 million.

The Iloilo Central Market collected P2 million, or P1 million lower from its P3-million target, while the La Paz Public Market surpassed its P2-million target collection.

LEEO operates the Iloilo Terminal, Central, Jaro big and small, La Paz, Mandurriao, and Arevalo markets. It also supervises the operation of the city slaughterhouse.

It is also closely working in collaboration with the City Engineer’s Office for declogging and repairs, Public Safety and Transportation Management Office for clearing of obstruction and protocols, General Services Office in-charge for waste management, City Treasurer’s Office for anti-fraud, City Health Office for disinfection, and Bureau of Fire Protection for monthly flushing./PN
