City to settle complaint against village chief

BACOLOD City — The city government here is going to settle the problem between a resident of Barangay Tangub and the village chief.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a resolution on Sept. 18 seeking the Department of Interior and Local Government’s permission to intervene in the conflict between Susima Taquiso and Barangay Captain Noli Villarosa.

Mayor Monico Puentevella said he will call them for an “amicable” settlement.

Taquiso wrote Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya and the city councilors on Sept. 16 telling them about the grave misconduct, abuse of authority and harassment that she experienced from Villarosa.

Taquiso alleged that Villarosa maligned her with a gun tucked in his waistband on Sept. 11.

Taquiso said Villarosa ordered her to stop the construction of her house on the lot allegedly awarded to her by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

However, DENR Bacolod head Joan Gerangaya denied that they gave Taquiso the lot./PN
