The weather bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 11 a.m. on Monday indicated that “Jenny” (international name: Koinu) would continue to enhance the southwest monsoon. This is expected to result in occasional monsoon rains over the western portions of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for the next three days.
The storm is projected to move in a general northwest direction until Wednesday, after which it is expected to turn either west-northwest or directly west.
Based on the current track forecast, Typhoon “Jenny” is anticipated to make landfall over the southern part of Taiwan on Thursday morning. It will then exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the Taiwan Strait between Thursday evening and early Friday morning.
The PDRRMO urges residents in areas deemed highly or very highly susceptible to these weather conditions to remain vigilant and to heed any evacuation instructions.
The general public is also advised to stay updated with weather announcements./PN
