BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) here tasked barangay officials to monitor campaign activities in their turfs and report to it violations committed.
Yesterday the city Comelec discussed with 61 punong barangays the poll body’s Resolution 10732 listing the dos and donts during the campaign period for the May 9, 2022 elections.
The meeting was held at Barangay Montevistas’ covered court.
According to Comelec-Bacolod acting officer Revo Sorbito, barangay captains must submit reports to Comelec after campaigns were held in their villages.
The campaign for national positions started on Feb. 8 while that for local posts begins on March 25.
Comelec also reminded barangay officials that they have the authority to take illegal campaign materials./PN
