ILOILO City – A police officer got wounded. His service firearm accidentally went off.
Police Staff Sergeant Beverly Lorilla, 43, of the San Rafael, Iloilo police station was conducting a surveillance in Barangay Poblacion of the town when the accidental discharge happened on Sunday.
Lorilla, an intelligence officer, was tracking a wanted person with colleague, Police Staff Sergeant Dante Bañes.
The gun, placed in the pocket of Lorilla’s trousers, went off at around 7:55 a.m.
The cop was treated at the Gov. Niel D. Tupas Sr. District hospital for a gunshot wound on the right leg./PN
