‘Cops’ anti-drug campaign improves’

ILOILO City – In the past five months of anti-illegal drug operations, the performance of policemen improved, according to Chief Supt. Josephus Angan, Philippine National Police regional director.

Records from the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) revealed that 441 drug personalities were apprehended from January to May this year.

Of that number, Bacolod City had the highest number at 91, followed by Negros Occidental with 71 and Iloilo province with 70.

In a comparative data from RPIO,  from January to May 2013, there were only 111 anti-illegal drug operations which resulted to the arrest of 154 illegal drug personalities as compared to 2014 when there were 291 drug operations that led to the arrest 441 drug pushers.

Angan is appealing to the community to help the police./PN
