ILOILO City – A police patrol car hit a pickup in Barangay Buhang, Jaro district yesterday morning, leaving three Police Officers 1 (PO1s) and a retired policeman injured.
The patrol car of the Capiz Public Safety Company was on its way to Camp Delgado in Iloilo City, the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 6, when the accident happened around 6:15 a.m.
Confined at the West Visayas State University Hospital were PO1s Stephen Tubal, 31; Jomar Frontada, Juanito Aranda, and retired Senior Police Officer 4 Medel Lanila, 53.
According to Tubal, driver of the patrol car, the pickup suddenly made a sharp turn, resulting to the accident.
But Lanila denied this. He said his vehicle was flashing its signal light to warn other vehicles.
