CENTRAL Philippine University Golden Lions clinched a semifinals seat in the secondary girls and open women category of the 2017 Iloilo City Developmental Volleyball League (ICDVL) Season 3.
CPU barged into the secondary girls semis after defeating Iloilo National High School in the quarterfinals at the Ateneo de Iloilo Gymnasium.
Golden Lions also joined the Final 4 in the open women after finishing at the top four of the eliminations along with Superfly, University of San Agustin and Iloilo Science and Technology University.
Other teams that made it to the semifinals in secondary girls were Iloilo City National High School, Santa Barbara and Dumangas, which edged Leon, Ateneo de Iloilo and La Paz, respectively.
Meanwhile, making it to the semifinals in elementary girls were University of San Agustin, San Nicolas Elementary School, Hua Siong College of Iloilo, and La Paz.
In the quarterfinals, San Agustin defeated San Miguel. San Nicolas ousted CPU, Hua Siong outduelled Pavia, and La Paz rallied past Ateneo de Iloilo.
Around 70 volleyball teams across Western Visayas competed in the monthlong tournament.
