DHSUD OKs Negros Occidental’s development plan

BACOLOD City – The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has approved the six-year Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) of Negros Occidental.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson received last week the Certificate of Approval for the said plan from DSHUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar.

The governor expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who actively participated in the crafting of the PDPFP, including DHSUD Region 6 and central Office, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), and Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) 6, for their invaluable guidance during the formulation of the comprehensive 940-page plan.

This inclusive data driven and DRR-CCA (disaster risk reduction-climate change adaptation) mainstreamed plan integrates both spatial and development concerns, allowing the province to implement strategic and practical solutions to current and future challenges.

Acuzar commended the efforts of the province for completing the PDPFP, along with the seven other provinces in the country namely, Agusan del Sur, Bulacan, Laguna, Northern Samar, Sarangani, Siquijor, and Zamboanga del Norte./PN
