ILOILO – To promote digital transparency and improve public access to government information, the Iloilo Provincial Government has made over two dozen official documents and publications freely available online through the newly enhanced Iloilo Provincial Library and Archives digital platform.
The initiative, titled Iloilo Provincial Government Publications, includes 26 digitized publications — ranging from provincial profiles to economic data and governance best practices—that can now be accessed at https://iloiloelibrary.com/collections/show/9.
The digital archive includes the latest Iloilo Provincial Profile 2024, economic profiles dating back to 2009, development plans, citizen’s charters, and historical records such as the Inauguration of the Provincial Officials of Iloilo (1972) and Iloilo circa 1985.
Also featured are informative brochures covering demographics, health, agriculture, education, and infrastructure across Iloilo’s municipalities.
“This launch represents a significant milestone in Iloilo’s efforts to embrace digital transformation, not just in education but in governance and public service as well,” the Provincial Library and Archives said in a statement.
The provincial profile — an annual publication by the Provincial Planning and Development Office — consolidates data from various national and local government offices. It serves as a key reference for policymakers, researchers, and the public, containing essential statistics such as population, land area, crop production, health indicators, and educational resources.
The online resource was officially launched on April 8, 2025, signaling a broader commitment by the provincial government to foster digital literacy, preserve cultural and historical materials, and enhance the dissemination of public information.
Officials encouraged residents, students, educators, and researchers to explore the platform, noting that democratized access to government data is vital to informed decision-making and community empowerment./PN
