ILOILO City – A robbery suspect will not only be charged with trying to steal from a novelty shop in La Paz district here.
The 49-year-old Eugene Zapanta of Barangay Hibao-an, Pavia, Iloilo will also be charged with illegal possession of firearm.
Zapanta fled after failing to rob Divisoria Novelty Enterprises on Rizal Street, Barangay Railway, La Paz around 1:10 p.m. on Thursday.
But quick-responding policemen caught Zapanta.
When frisked, the suspected yielded a homemade .38 revolver with five live ammunitions.
Policemen recovered seven more bullets from Zapanta’s pouch.
Zapanta was taken to the La Paz police station./PN
