ILOILO City – Two suspects were arrested while P1.3 million worth of alleged shabu was seized during a drug buy-bust operation in Maybato Sur, San Jose, Antique.
Taken to the San Jose Municipal Police Station (MPS) were aliases “Jojo/Sungi,” 37, classified as a high-value individual, and “Che-che”, 21 both residents of the said town.
The operation was carried out by the San Jose MPS together with the Antique Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit at around 2:10 p.m. on September 24.
The suspects will be charged for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), acknowledged the efforts of his men for a job well done.
“I congratulated everyone for the successful conduct of the said operation. Ang pagkakakumpiska ng mga drogang ito at pagkaka-aresto sa mga suspects ay isang malaking tagumpay sa ating laban kontra sa iligal na droga,” Ligan said.
The region’s top cop added: “Let this serve as a warning to all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, we will never stop pursuing you. To the community, we ask for your continued support in our shared commitment to a drug-free Western Visayas.”/PN
