ANTIQUE – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 6 has opened a satellite office in Culasi town to bring its services closer to the people.

Located at the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) building in Barangay Poblacion, the facility will serve as a one-stop shop for various social protection programs, including the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), and other services.

The new office will not only cater to residents of Culasi but also to those from neighboring municipalities of Antique and nearby provinces.

The inauguration was led by DSWD-6 Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Regional Director Joselito G. Estember, OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Katherine Joy M. Lamprea, and Antique SWAD Team Leader Darlene Abagat, together with the agency staff assigned to the office. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to formally launch the facility.

Following the inauguration, a memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed between DSWD and partner government officials to further strengthen collaboration in delivering social welfare services.

Estember said the opening of the satellite office is in line with the directive of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to make the agency’s services more accessible to the public.

The satellite office officially opens to the public today, August 18./PN
