
SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Trade and Industry will bring the “Negosyo Center” (NC) services closer to villages in the province.
“We are going to the barangays of the fourth and fifth class municipalities to increase their knowledge on how to manage their businesses,” said NC Small and Medium Enterprises Development Unit business councilor Cor Mariez Sandig on Thursday.
Sandig said they will conduct entrepreneurial seminars among micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the municipalities of Belison, Libertad, Anini-y, Barbaza, Laua-an, Pandan, Sebaste, Tibiao, Tobias Fornier, and Valderrama.
The participants will learn financial literacy and simple bookkeeping to enhance their entrepreneurial skills, she added.
Sandig noted that aside from the entrepreneurship seminars, they will also assist MSMEs on how to access “Pondo sa Pagbabago at Pag-asenso” – a microfinancing initiative implemented by President Rodrigo Duterte.
In Western Visayas, Antique is the first province to establish NCs within its 18 municipalities in 2018 aimed assist MSMEs in the province. (With a report from PNA/PN)
