ILOILO CITY-BASED ERK Film Production has been awarded funding grants by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) under the CreatePH program for its two upcoming projects.

“Candè”, which is slated to be released this year, received a post-production grant while “With Love, Bridgit” scheduled for principal photography early next year has been given the small budget production fund.

Both projects are written and directed by acclaimed Ilonggo film director Kevin Pison Piamonte.

The FDCP’s CreatePHFilms Funding Program was launched to ensure that the government works with and provides support to filmmakers, producers, and distributors in all stages of filmmaking to complement their efforts to produce quality Filipino films. This is FDCP’s response to its mandate “to create assistance funds to support different stages of the production of quality films, including but not limited to film development, production, post-production, marketing, distribution, exhibition, and archiving practices in the country.”

ERK Film Production, in a Facebook post, said these funds are absolutely crucial in the sustainability of regional filmmaking, adding that they will continue to provide logistical support for local filmmakers who have wonderful stories to tell.

“We celebrate these wins with a collective thrill of a promising future for Filipino filmmaking especially for us in the regions! Mabuhay ang pelikulang Pilipino! Our gratitude to FDCP,” it added./PN
