ILOILO – The shooting in Estancia town that left three young businessmen dead will be solved, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Region 6.

“May ma-file-an gid sang kaso,” said Atty. Jeremiah Sargado, assistant regional director.

NBI-6 has started an investigation parallel with that of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO). The families of the three victims sought its help.

Ini nga kaso, with the cooperation sang duha ka agency, ma-solve gid in due time,” said Sargado.

NBI-6 also considers Jevron Parohinog, the lone survivor in the shooting, as a person of interest.

He is in the custody of the Estancia police.

Parohinog told the police that he and the three fatalities – John Paul Mark Bosque, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes and Mark Clarenz Libao – were onboard a white Isuzu MUX when attacked by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Villa Pani-an, Estancia at around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 14.

Bosque owned the vehicle but Parohinog was driving it.

Meanwhile, authorities already identified the owner of the gun recovered in Bosque’s vehicle.

Police said the .9mm caliber pistol was registered in the name of Albertito Lopez III of Luna Street, La Paz, Iloilo City.

The police, however, classified the gun as a loose firearm. It was reported lost in 2007 yet during the onslaught of typhoon “Frank”.

In June 2007 typhoon “Frank” unleashed rains that inundated large parts of Iloilo city and province and other provinces in Panay Island.

Naka-register ini kay Alberto Lopez III sang Luna Street, La Paz, Iloilo City kag nag-expire sang September 10, 2007,” said Police Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero Jr., public information officer of the IPPO and spokesperson of its special investigation task group.

From what the police so far gathered, the firearm was entrusted by Lopez to someone who in turn confirmed to have lost it during the 2007 typhoon.

Lindero said how the gun ended up in Bosque’s vehicle is something the police is trying to figure out./PN
