CAPIZ – A 37-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz in Sitio Pook, Barangay Culasi, Roxas City on May 7.
The suspect was identified as Glodin Matulac, a resident of the city’s Barangay Libas, and was identified as an “ex-convict”.
Police seized one unit of caliber .45 pistol; 14 rounds of ammunition; two magazines; and P15,950 in buy-bust money.
CIDG-Capiz confirmed that Matulac was previously jailed for a homicide case but was released from jail last year through bail.
The suspect, meanwhile, denied accusations that he had staked a firearm in Barangay Libas, causing many complaints to be filed with the police.
Matulac is now scheduled to face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
