ILOILO – A former prisoner was arrested in a drug buy- bust operation in Barangay Baguinin-Lanot, Alimodian town at around 1:55 p.m. on April 27.
Cornelio Cabagua was a 37-year-old resident of the village.
More than P40,000 worth of suspected shabu was recovered by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Alimodian Municipal Police Station (MPS).
According to Police Executive Master Sergeant Victor Minerva, deputy station commander of the Alimodian MPS, Cabagua was arrested after handing over the suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P6,000.
Eight more sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of seven grams and valued at P47,600 were recovered from the subject.
According to the Alimodian police, Cabagua was imprisoned in year 2020 for a drug-related case and was freed a year after.
Cabagua, who faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, denied using or selling illegal drugs, according to Minerva./PN
