ILOILO City – His father, former Justice secretary Raul Gonzalez Sr. is not dead, clarified former Iloilo City congressman Raul Gonzalez Jr..

The elder Gonzalez had difficulty breathing, said the son over government radio station DyLL Radyo ng Bayan-Iloilo.

The former congressman said his father’s health issues may be due to advanced age.

The elder Gonzalez is 83 years old.

According to the son, on Sept. 4 his father was transferred to a private room on the advice of the doctor because his condition improved.

The wrong information on the elder Gonzalez spread on Facebook and text messages recently.
