BACOLOD City — The Fil-Sino Intercompany Friendship Cup crossover semifinal for Class B division will start today at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School here.
Bacolod Steel will enjoy twice-to-beat advantage against Eversure Marketing, while a knockout match will be played between Johann Kendrick Tan and Northwest Inn.
In Wednesday’s match, Bacolod Steel Keith Banzon’s triple downed Johann Kendrick Tan, 71-68, to clinch Class B top-seed.
JKT even took the half, 42-33. But Bacolod Steel cut the lead, 57-54, at the third quarter.
Jolly Castillo paced Bacolod Steel with 15 points; while Banzon, Joshua Lao and Tan added 10 each; and Adonis Rosales had nine.
Luigi Coo finished with 21 points for JKT; Edward Uy added nine; Biboy Uysang, eight; Nico Yap and Errol Su, seven apiece; and Aldrian Tan, six.
In Class A division, 365 Modern Café secured the second spot by dealing NHOJs Sports Wear its fourth straight loss in overtime, 89-84.
365 Modern Café Robbie Jalando-on drilled a back-to-back trey for a 76-74 advantage.
But Brian Tan converted his free throws to salvage an overtime stint for NHOJs.
Jalando-on top-scored for 365 with game-high 27 points; Yan Yan Dy added 21; Michael Ang, 13; Daniel Ong, seven; while Clarence Quingco and Marc Lo, six each.
Nico Lopingco led NHOJs with 22; Ralph Richard Tan scored 16; Glin Ortaliz, 10; Chris Javelosa, nine; Brian Tan, seven; Toffel Tan, six; while Bobil Alagaban and John Montemayor, five apiece./PN
