ILOILO City – A three-storey boardinghouse in Barangay Danao, City Proper was totally gutted by fire yesterday.
It started at around 12:05 a.m.
The boardinghouse mostly accommodated students.
According to Fire Chief Inspector Christopher Regencia of the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire was placed under control at 12:44 a.m.
But an adjacent building of St. Paul University Iloilo and the Doane Baptist Church were partially damaged.
Electrical short circuit may have caused the fire, said Regencia. Investigation was ongoing as of this writing.
Damage reached 650,000.
There were no fatalities or injuries, said Regencia./PN
