Four nabbed for illegal activities in Capiz

CAPIZ – Four individuals were arrested in a sting operation for illegal firearms dealing and drug-related activities in Sitio Toll Bridge, Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas town.

The suspects were identified as aliases “Han,” “Jane,” and “May”, all residents of Sitio Toll Bridge, and “Pol”, a resident of Barangay San Jose, Roxas City.

According to Police Major Alfred De Leon, chief of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station, the primary target, Han, had been under surveillance for some time. He was arrested after allegedly selling an improvised .38 caliber revolver with one bullet for P2,500 during a buy-bust operation.

Meanwhile, the three other suspects were caught in connection with illegal drug activities. Recovered during the operation were approximately 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at P102,000, two grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P200, and drug-related paraphernalia including improvised tooters, aluminum foil, lighters, and plastic sachets.

Two of the suspects were reportedly caught in the act of a pot session at the time of arrest.

Han will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, while the other three are being charged under RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

All suspects are currently detained at the President Roxas Municipal Police Station pending the filing of formal charges./PN
