GERALD Anderson and Julia Barretto have mutually decided to end their relationship, their respective agencies confirmed, after months of being hounded by breakup rumors.

Anderson and Barretto’s split was confirmed in a brief statement by the actor’s management Star Magic on Thursday, Sept. 18, although the reason behind their breakup has not been revealed yet.

“Star Magic confirms that Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have mutually decided to end their relationship,” the post read.

The ABS-CBN-owned label also appealed to the public to stop spreading false rumors about their split.

“We request the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives. Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support,” it said.

Meanwhile, Barretto’s management Viva Artists Agency announced their split in a separate statement.

“We emphasize that only information coming directly from Julia and Gerald should be regarded as accurate, as they are the primary parties involved. Any other claims are merely attempts to ride on the issue or to spread false information,” it added.

The ex-couple remained silent about their breakup, as of this writing.

Months before their breakup was confirmed, Anderson denied that he and Barretto parted ways in June 2025, saying they’re “okay.”

The actor confirmed that he was in a relationship with Barretto in March 2021, whom he met on the set of the romantic film “Between Maybes.” However, it remains unknown when they actually started dating.

At the time, Anderson was involved in a controversial breakup with his ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo, whom the latter accused of “ghosting” her. (Hannah Mallorca © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
