ILOILO City – On its debut faceoff in the Governor’s Cup: The Media Games 2016, the Panay News squad proved its strength not only in delivering the hottest daily news but also in the basketball arena.
The Panay News team dribbled its way to victory as they won the first game against the Aksyon Radyo-Love Radio squad on Monday with a 50-36 drubbing.
From the start all the way to the end, Panay News continued to outscore the opponent.
In the first quarter, the game ended with a 23-17 score in favor of Panay News but the game started to heat up when Aksyon Radyo-Love Radio managed to cut closer at 27 points, chasing Panay News’ 32.
In the third quarter, Aksyon Radyo-Love Radio tried to outscore Panay News but failed as the latter unloaded a three-point lead to end the quarter, 34-37.
In the final quarter, Panay News strengthened its guard and defence, holding on to the lead to defeat the Aksyon Radyo-Love Radio squad, 50-36.
Meanwhile, in the other game, RMN Iloilo won against Win Radio via 58-45 rout.
The basketball games between various media outlets in Iloilo, which kicked off Monday morning, is sponsored by Iloilo governor Arthur Defensor, Sr.
Aside from basketball, the Governor’s Cup: The Media Games 2016 will also showcase the ability of female media personalities in a bowling tournament set on Nov. 26.
