GUIMARAS – The Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) apprehended the No. 2 most wanted person in Western Visayas during a manhunt operation at Sitio Singcalang, Barangay Balcon Melliza, Jordan town, on October 17.
The suspect identified as alias “Riyal”, 35, single, and a resident of the said barangay, was wanted for the crime of rape under Article 266-A (1)(D) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Section 1 of Republic Act No. 11648.
The arrest was carried out by joint elements of the Jordan Municipal Police Station (MPS) as the lead unit, GPPO’s Provincial Intelligence Unit, Guimaras Provincial Mobile Force Platoon, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 (PIT Guimaras), and the Highway Patrol Team-Guimaras through the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 65 in Jordan, Guimaras, dated October 17, 2025.
Riyal is currently under the custody of Jordan MPS for proper disposition and documentation. No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom.
Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), lauded the operating units for their efficient coordination and dedication in pursuing wanted criminals in the region.
“This arrest demonstrates our continuing efforts to bring to justice those who hide from the law. The successful operation shows the dedication of our personnel to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of the victims. PRO-6 will persist in tracking down wanted individuals to ensure that justice is served,” Ligad said./PN
