MANILA – The House of Representatives’ quad committee has also cited the wife of former Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in contempt for failing to attend the congressional investigation.
Abang Lingkod party-list Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano moved to cite Myla in contempt for her failure to appear in their inqury for the third time on Friday.
“Since we have given Ms. Roque the due process…. I move to cite in contempt Ms. Roque, Mr. chairman,” Paduano said in his motion.
Quad committee overall chairperson and Surigao del Norte’s Cong. Robert Ace Barbers approved the motion after hearing no objection from their fellow lawmakers.
Antipolo City’s Cong. Romeo Acop, for his part, then moved to issue an arrest order against Myla Roque. No one objected to the motion.
Myla’s name cropped up as the one who signed the lease agreement to a wanted Chinese IT expert who was in hiding after the authorities raided the POGO firm in Porac, Pampanga.
The committee earlier cited Harry in contempt for not fulfilling his promise to submit copies of his Statement of Assets Liabilities and Networth (SALN) and documents about his business dealings and tax records.
Roque’s wealth was being linked to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators./PN
