High satisfaction rating elates Drilon, Treñas

MANILA – Senate President Franklin Drilon and Rep. Jerry Treñas earned “excellent” satisfaction ratings from residents of Iloilo City, according to a survey organization.

The survey of Random Access Consultants, Inc. (Raci) showed Drilon’s public satisfaction rating at 79.8 percent, while Treñas’ at 76. 3 percent.

“I thank our fellow Ilonggos for their trust and continued support for good governance,” Drilon told Panay News yesterday.

The veteran lawmaker also said he “won’t betray” the trust bestowed on him by Ilonggos.

For his part, Treñas said he was “humbled” by the support of the Ilonggos.

“It means they appreciate what I have been doing,” the House member told Panay News.

The latest survey, he also said, strengthened his commitment “to continue what I am presently doing” and “to look for other ways to serve our people.”

The survey was conducted last month.

Meanwhile, Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog of Iloilo City got a “very good” job approval rating with 69.3 percent. His vice mayor, Joee Espinosa III, had 44.7 percent.

National officials President Benigo Aquino III received 34.5 percent; Vice President Jejomar Binay, 45 percent; and Local Government secretary Mar Roxas, 38.6.

Six hundred respondents were asked: “Do you agree with the way our public officials perform their jobs?”

Among the Iloilo City councilors, Nielex Tupas got the highest approval rating (56.5 percent).
