High-value target yields P714K ‘shabu’ in Mandurriao drug bust

ILOILO City – A buy-bust operation carried out by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) in Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao district led to the arrest of a high-value drug suspect and the confiscation of alleged shabu worth P714,000.

The 40-year-old alias “Tengloy”, a resident of Barangay Taal, Molo district, was caught around 12:25 a.m. yesterday, January 16, in possession of 21 plastic sachets of the said illegal substance weighing around 105 grams.

The suspect is now in police custody. He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), lauded the ICPO for its intensified efforts against illegal drugs.

“This successful operation is a testament to our commitment to eradicate illegal drugs and ensure the safety of our communities,” he said./PN
