AKLAN – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has confirmed that a murder complaint has been filed against Ibajay, Aklan’s Sangguniang Bayan (SB) member Mihrel Senatin, 43, through inquest proceedings.
The complaint was filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in the capital town of Kalibo at around 6 p.m. on Aug. 9.
Senatin is the suspect in the fatal shooting of Ibajay vice mayor Julio M. Estolloso on Aug. 8.

According to PRO-6 spokesperson Police Major Lailyn Sencil, investigators have determined the motive to be a “long-standing personal grudge against the victim.”
Initial police reports stated that the attack occurred at about 9:15 a.m. Friday last week inside the SB office at the Poblacion.
Senatin allegedly entered the office, asked a staff member for copies of all ordinances passed during his term, then walked toward Vice Mayor Estolloso and confronted him, reportedly saying, “Vice, ano ang saea kimu?” (Vice, what’s your problem with me?). Without warning, he allegedly drew a handgun and shot Estolloso in the left chest.
Colleagues and staff rushed the wounded vice mayor to the Ibajay District Hospital, but he did not survive. Police officers arrested Senatin and brought him to the Ibajay municipal police station for detention and processing./PN
