ICPO seizes over P18 million worth of illegal drugs in April; Treñas lauds cops on Labor Day

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) confiscated more than P18 million worth of illegal drugs in April as part of its intensified anti-drug campaign that also led to the arrest of nearly a hundred suspects, including high-value targets.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, in a statement released on Labor Day, May 1, praised the ICPO under the leadership of Police Colonel Kim Legada for its “outstanding operational accomplishments,” particularly its sustained efforts in the war against illegal drugs.

“The ICPO conducted a total of 68 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 96 individuals, including 26 high-value targets,” Mayor Treñas said. “Authorities also confiscated more than 2.1 kilograms of shabu and 22.81 grams of marijuana, with a combined street value of over P18 million.”

The city mayor also gave special recognition to Iloilo City Police Station 8, which topped all other precincts in terms of the number of operations conducted for the month.

“To Colonel Kim Legada and the men and women of the ICPO, thank you for your relentless dedication and bravery,” Mayor Treñas said. “This Labor Day, we salute you and all hardworking Ilonggos who continue to build a safer, stronger, and more progressive Iloilo City.”

The ICPO’s April campaign is part of its broader commitment to public safety and the Philippine National Police’s ongoing efforts to rid communities of illegal drugs and criminal activity./PN
