ILOILO City – Accused of engaging in illegal gambling, a 21-year-old was arrested in Barangay Binaba-an Limoso, Lambunao, Iloilo.
The municipal police took custody of Jerry Obregon, a resident of Barangay Pali Benedicto, Mandurriao district.
Officers accosted him at around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday. He faces a charge for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties for illegal gambling, a police report showed.
Obregon was collecting bets for “ball games” at a fair (peryahan), police said.
Officers seized from him P691 worth of bet money and gambling paraphernalia, the report stated./PN
