ILOILO – The provincial government, through the Provincial School Board (PSB), is hiring licensed teachers.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. said the PSB is looking for 300 licensed elementary and secondary teachers for public schools in the province, upon the request of the Department of Education (DepEd)-Division of Iloilo for assistance to address the teacher-learner ratio gap.
“Nag-ayu ang DepEd nga mabulig ang province, including facilities, infrastructures and teachers. As part sang Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya program, we will help with [looking for] teachers,” Defensor told the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Press Corps yesterday morning.
The PSB Secretariat would be receiving applications from licensed elementary and secondary teachers until April 24.
“This is open to all licensed elementary and secondary teachers who are bonafide residents of the province of Iloilo,” read part of Defensor’s letter addressed to Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Luz M. De Los Reyes of the DepEd-Division of Iloilo.
Hired teachers will receive a P10,000 allowance per month from the PSB, and without additional allowance from DepEd, the letter added.
Requirements
Interested applicants should submit the following:
* Application letter (to be addressed to the Provincial School Board Secretariat at the Office of the Governor)
* Personal data sheet (CSC Form 212)
* Certificate of residency issued by the punong barangay where the applicant resides
* photocopy of Professional Regulation Commission ID
* Certification from DepEd that the applicant is among the registered, qualified applicants
Area of assignment
DepEd-Division of Iloilo information officer Leonil Salvilla said the teachers would be assigned to different public schools in the province.
“Depende ina sa need sang schools; actually, may number naman kita; may data kon ano ang schools nga may need sang additional teachers kay siempre for the last two years nga wala sang new item nga nag-abot because of the pandemic,” Salvilla told Panay News.
He also thanked the PSB for the fund for the hiring of teachers and the construction of classrooms./PN
