MANILA – Ilongga volleybelle Ana Hermosura said the decision to transfer to the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts was not easy, but for the future of her volleyball career, she is willing to take the challenge.
“I have no regrets with my transfer to Bacolod Tay Tung because I know they will lead me into my goal of becoming a great volleyball player,” Hermosura said in an interview with Sports LANG podcast.
Hermosura added that there is no big adjustment on her transfer since she had been away from her relatives the time she represented Western Visayas in the 2017 Palarong Pambansa in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
“Hindi naman naging mahirap para sa akin to overcome homesickness since nasanay na po ako nung nasa Palaro kami. ‘Yung sa billeting kami natutulog, so hindi na masyadong bago para sa akin ang lumipat sa Bacolod Tay Tung,” she said.
The five-foot-six Ilongga hitter hopes to play for either University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses or Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles for college since it was a her dream to play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
“Ang dream ko talaga is makalaro sa UAAP. Ang dream school ko is UST kasi maganda ang volleyball program and academics, same with Ateneo,” she said. “But I am open to any UAAP school kung saan man magkaroon ng opportunity.”/PN
