MANILA – Ilonggo Andrei Delicana, formerly of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, has officially transferred to the University of Santo Tomas Golden Spikers.
The Dumangas, Iloilo native’s move was announced on the UST Golden Squad – Indoor and Beach Volleyball’s Facebook page recently.
“A roaring welcome to ANDREI DELICANA! The former FEU standout and Outside Hitter was a key part of their incredible run in UAAP Season 85, and we’re thrilled to have this championship-winning talent to our golden team #GoUSTe,” the post captioned.
The 6-foot wing spiker made history in UAAP Season 85 by steering the FEU-Diliman Baby Tamaraws to their first-ever boys’ volleyball crown.
In his rookie collegiate year in Season 86, Delicana ranked 12th in scoring and ninth in spiking efficiency for the Tamaraws.
Despite Delicana’s strong run in the FEU, he left the squad after one season to continue his studies abroad before joining UST this year.
Under the new UAAP eligibility rules, Delicana will serve a one-year residency before suiting up for the Golden Spikers in Seasons 89 and 90./PN
