BACOLOD City — Adrian Nacario of Team Go For Gold ruled the MassKaralympics and KambyaDos Racing Team MTB XCO Race 2025, topping the Open Category at the Manggahan Playground XCO Course in Barangay Granada here.

The Iloilo City-native Nacario bested more than 250 cyclists from Bacolod, Negros Oriental, Iloilo, Guimaras, Antique, and Manila to win the ₱15,000 top prize and the championship trophy.

Aldren Alom Alojado of Bago City, Negros Occidental and the KambyaDos Racing Team placed second, while Thirdy Mana-ay of Iloilo settled for third.

In the 13 and Under class, Kendrick Mahilum took first place, followed by Arvin Casiple and Gabo. For 16 and Under, Renz Suarez topped the group, with Jude Colenn Bacus and Kirt Gargarino finishing second and third.

In the 17–19 category, Thirdy Mana-ay ruled over Jethro Camus and Kirby Soberano, while the 20–29 class saw Roderick Punzalan in first, Nacario in second, and Steven Luage in third.

For 30–39, Alojado finished first, followed by Romnick and Edwin Nacario Jr. In 40–49, Ryan Javello won, with Rey Jun Besuena and Gilbert Ravello placing next. The 50–59 division saw Rodrigo Egualan on top, followed by Nody Villalba and Ernesto Parohinog.

In the Women’s Division, Jwynn Muyco bagged the title, while Danna Barizo and Erica Parohinog took second and third. The LGBTQIA+ Category was ruled by Mosiah Baldonado, with JM Monaya and Ronald Gape rounding out the podium.

Tournament Director and KambyaDos Founder Mark Anthony Nicavera said the successful turnout reflected the growing cycling community in the region.

“We are blessed with good weather today, and we’re very thankful for that because October is usually the rainy season,” Nicavera said. “We made sure our race course was safe and bikeable for everyone.”

“We welcome riders from Negros, Iloilo, Guimaras, Antique, and even Manila,” he added. “It’s our joy and mission at KD Racing Team to give riders the best racing experience and bring happiness through sports. We’re preparing for a much bigger race next year.”

The mountain bike cross-country event, organized by the KambyaDos Racing Team in partnership with the City of Bacolod and the Bacolod Gugma Foundation Inc., served as one of the major sporting highlights of the ongoing MassKara Festival 2025./PN
